Inquiry flows
In order to use the facilities of the University of Tokyo Material Advanced Research Infrastructure Microstructure Analysis Division, it is necessary to register as a user and apply for a research project in advance.
1. First-time users of the Organization
First of all, please contact us to discuss your issue.
If necessary, we will have a meeting with the person in charge of the equipment.
2. Those who have used this organization before
If the content of your project or the facilities you will be using remain the same as last year, please proceed to step 5. New project application.
If the content of the assignment has changed from last year, or if you are considering using new equipment, please contact us first to discuss the content.
3. Those who are joint users
It is possible to register as a joint user for the same project.
If you are a joint user, please register as a new user in 4.
After completing the registration, please refer to 7. Addition of joint users.
4. New user registration
New user registration is required when using for the first time.
Please confirm the terms of use from the page below and enter the necessary information to complete the user registration.
5. New project application
After logging in with your registered email address and password, please apply for a new assignment from My Page.
- The assignment will be reviewed by the secretariat.
- Please note that you may not be able to use it depending on the content of your application.

6. Facility use reservation
After your assignment has been approved, please contact your representative to schedule an appointment.
7. Adding joint users
If there are people who use the facilities jointly for an approved project, you can add joint users from the project details on My Page.
If a joint user makes a reservation for facilities, please be sure to register as a joint user in advance.
- Any additional joint users must also register as new users in advance.
8. Equipment addition application
If you need to use equipment other than the equipment registered at the time of project application for an approved project, please apply for additional equipment from the project details on My Page.
9. Inquiries to the person in charge of facilities
If you have any questions about the equipment you are using, please go to "Inquiry to the person in charge of equipment" from the issue details on My Page.
- If you use the general inquiry form, it may take some time to respond.
10. Billing
The month following your use, you will be asked to confirm your usage record by receiving a statement of the shared equipment usage fee on ARIM-mdx nextcloud.
Fees will be collected by sending invoice documents to mdx and transferring the fee from the designated budget (for those on campus).
